    Магистр Программы в Канада

Canada has one of the highest living standards in the world and is consistently ranked in the top 10 on the UN’s Human Development Index. Being a member of both the Commonwealth and the Francophonie, a grouping of French-speaking countries, Canada offers a rich cultural heritage and many ties to its European founders. In addition to providing outstanding educational opportunities in both English and French, Canada is one of the most desirable places to live in the world. Canada boasts beautiful landscapes, low crime rates, clean cities, excellent health care and a tech savvy population. Despite its small population, Canada has some of the finest institutions of higher education in the world and master’s degrees from Canada are widely recognized for their high quality.

Canadians realize the importance of a good education, and this is why public education in Canada is funded by federal, provincial and local governments. Canada has one of the highest enrollment rates in the world for students who have graduated from secondary school continuing on to post-secondary education, that is, university-level education. There are plenty of Masters degrees in Canada to choose from for students from all over the world, creating a diverse educational environment.

Although Canada has several types of higher education institutes, only universities offer masters degree programs. Hundreds of master’s programs are available, from the arts to engineering to MBAs. General requirements for students applying for a masters degree program include a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, reference letters, a written application regarding the student’s interest in the degree program, and a standardized test such as the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT). International students who are not native English speakers may also need to take the TOEFL.

Tuition is very low for Canadian citizens. For international students, tuition varies widely depending upon the school and program, from a low of around $2,000 per year up to about $35,000 per year at the high end. Schools in the smaller provinces (e.g., Newfoundland) are generally less expensive than schools in the larger provinces (e.g., British Columbia). Individual institutions award scholarships to international students who have demonstrated high academic achievement; interested students should apply directly to the specific institution and Masters Program they want to attend.

The length of a masters degree in Canada depends upon the university, the academic discipline, and whether the student attends full time or part time. Programs range from one to two years and usually include a mixture of coursework and research. Some programs require a full thesis, while others require a project or even an internship.

Canada loves international students, as demonstrated by the more than 200,000 of them studying there! In addition to providing a bi-lingual, multi-cultural environment with great winter sports, Canadian schools provide excellent value for all students, with relatively low tuition rates and high quality schools – four universities in the 2012 Shanghai World University Rankings top 100 and five MBA schools in the 2012 Financial Times Rankings top 100. Graduates of programs will find many opportunities to work in Canada whether or not they are Canadian residents. Major Canadian industries include banking, petroleum, forestry, fishing, agriculture and aerospace.
